URI: open interest (OI)

Open interest in URI — how much money sits in open futures positions on URI and how it flows between exchanges. Signals: inflow (OI grows on several exchanges at once), migration (positions move from one exchange to another) and overheating (too much leverage). The data ticks in real time across every exchange.

URI is not in the OI tracker right now: none of the exchanges we poll report open interest for it.

About URI open interest

What does open interest in URI show?

The total of all open futures contracts on URI. Rising — new money is entering the market; falling — positions are being closed. A sharp jump often precedes a strong move or a squeeze.

Why watch URI OI?

A sharp inflow of OI often precedes a strong move; overheating (too much leverage) raises the risk of cascading liquidations; OI migrating between exchanges shows where the interest is concentrating.
